The Oyama Tro-110C is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the best countertop convection ovens. Even though it has a cheap price tag, the quality, reliability and performance are that of a much more expensive machine.
Instead of a Halogen bulb the Oyama uses an element style heater and fan that provides both convection and infrared cooking. When compared to a Halogen cooker, the element design is more reliable and eliminates the need to replace the bulb, which can cost as much as the original oven.
The Tro-110C provides the ability to bake, Grill, Steam or Roast, giving you plenty of options of how you want to cook your food, and the kind of food you can cook in it.
Although the oven does not come with an extender ring, there is an Oyama accessory pack available on the Amazon website and consists of; extender ring, bundt cake pan, stainless wire mesh, steamer pan, grill pan, and turbo lid stand, and at under $40 it is excellent value for money. .
The 12 liter glass bowl is made of clear tempered glass that is very thick and actually quite heavy. The bowl is large enough to cook up to an 8 pound turkey.
The controls are very easy to understand and operate. There are two separate dials, one for setting the temperature and the other for setting the cooking time. On the temperature dial there is also the option to set it for thaw/wash, which allows you to either defrost foods or fill the bowl with a few inches of water and detergent to assist in softening any deposits that have gathered after cooking, making it easier to clean.

NuWave 20631 Oven Pro Plus
You may have seen the NuWave Pro Plus on TV, but does it really live up to the hype? Read on to find out.
The first thing that stands out is the microwave style control panel, which allows for precise setting of both time and temperature. Other features are covered below.
To start cooking at a pre-set temperature of 350ºF; press the cook time button, enter the time and press the start button. If any temperature other than 350ºF is required, press the cook temp button and set the desired temperature, press cook time button and set the cooking time, press the start button.
For temperatures above 325ºF the maximum cook time is 2 hours. For temperatures below 325ºF the maximum cook time is 9 hours 59 minutes.
To pause the cooking process, press the pause/clear button once, press the start button to resume cooking. To clear the cooking time, press the pause/clear button twice.
The NuWave Pro Plus also has a delay function that allows the user to specify a time before the oven starts. The maximum time allowed for delay is 9 hours 59 minutes.
The other two buttons on the control panel are re-heat and warm. The re-heat button is designed for single portion foods and is pre-programmed for 4 minutes at 350ºF. The Warm button will keep foods at 155ºF for 2 hours.

Just when we thought we had seen all of the latest innovations in the countertop cooking world, along comes a product that adds a new dimension to the mix.
The Haier oil-less fryer is a halogen tabletop oven that has two major advantages over all the other convection ovens we have reviewed, it has a rotating system in the bottom of the bowl and a lift and lock lid.
The rotating system can be fitted with a stirrer or wire rack. The stirring attachment is used to turn small food items such as fries of chicken wings in the bottom of the bowl. Also included is a device that fits onto the side of the bowl to stop anything sticking to the sides. The wire rack can be used instead of the stirring device, and when compared to a conventional glass bowl convection oven, provides a more even cooking method.
When lifted, the lid will lock into the upright position, which means you don’t have to lift the lid off and place it on a wire rack or towel, reducing the chance of nasty burns and a broken lid. The lid height can be increased to accommodate the extender ring, which is included in the package.
The only downside to the lift and lock lid design is the fact that you will need to locate the cooker in an area where there is enough room above it to lift the lid.
The Haier Oil-Less Airfryer is operated by two dial type controls, one for temperature and the other for cooking time. Both dials are clearly marked in both Degrees F / Degrees C and easy to turn.
When it comes to glass bowl convection cookers, the Haier, with a rotating rack, stirring system and locking lid is one step ahead of the competition.

The large glass bowl is thick, heavy and dishwasher friendly, which makes cleaning it a very quick and easy job. Especially if you line the bottom with foil to catch any drips.
Being a digital push button controlled oven, and when compared to a dial type of oven, the Big Boss enables the user to more accurately control the temperature and cooking time. Another bonus of the digital controller is the ability to pause and restart the oven, easily allowing you to add items or turn the food that is already in there.
Around the outside of the control panel are the pre-sets, these include various food items such as; Hamburger, Steak, Pork Chops, Salmon Steak, Chicken Pieces, Whole Chicken and Pizza. There is also a setting for Thaw/Wash/Dehydrate. The digital display is clear, bright and very easy to operate.
Overall, the Big Boss is a decent product, certainly not the best countertop convection oven we have reviewed, but it did score well enough to make it into our top convection oven reviews.
